AaBKC International is Aarhus Center for Visual Art’s main platform for international dialogue, networking, and exchange.
The platform launched in 2017 with two programs: AaBKC Residency and Traverse - Connecting International Art Communities. AaBKC Residency focused on networking as a mode of curatorial and artistic research, and Traverse facilitated long-distance research about artists’ working conditions across cultures. Both programs ran for three years, with funding from Det Obelske Familiefond and Tækker Group/Tækker Fonden.
In 2022-23 we organised a residency exchange program for recent graduate artists, made in collaboration with Castlefield Gallery in Manchester, UK. This program was supported by The Danish Art Foundation (Statens Kunstfond) and The Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces (Slots- og Kulturstyrelsen).
