Fra den 19.-30. november er kulturel projektleder og producer Dominika Kluszczyk fra Wroclaw, Polen på study visit i Aarhus hos Aarhus Billedkunstcenter. Hendes besøg er organiseret i samarbejde med Culture Zone Wrocław, et samarbejde der er kommet i stand som et resultat af Kulturhovedstad 2017. Samarbejdet er blevet til en international udveksling, hvor billedkunstner Sophia Ioannou Gjerding fra Aarhus skal på et study visit i Wroclaw i december 2018.
Om Dominika Kluszczyk:
Dominika Kluszczyk (PL), born in 1980. She studied Roman Philology and Philosophy and Social Communication at the University of Wrocław (Poland).
She’s a manager and producer of media art projects and cultural events with a 9 years of experience in working with non-governmental organizations. Since 2011, she collaborates with WRO Art Center (wrocenter.pl) and since 2009 she has been associated with IP Group collective (identityproblemgroup.com). Project manager and producer of the WRO Media Art Biennale 2017 Draft Systems, 2015 Test Exposure and 2013 Pioneering Values. Coordinator of EU - funded projects such as EMAP (European Media Art Platform 2017 – 2021, emare.eu) and Artist Talk (2011-2013, artisttalk.eu).
She has managed several international exhibitions and cultural events organized by the WRO Art Center, including exhibitions such as Beyond the Seven (The Dom Słowa Polskiego Printing House, Warsaw, 2017), Eco Expanded City (a multi-faceted project as part of the program of the European Capital of Culture Wroclaw 2016), Moths, crabs, fluids (international exhibition prepared for the opening of the Koszyki Hall in Warsaw, 2016), On The Silver Globe – Installations for the collection of WRO Media Art Biennale (Kunsthal Aarhus, 2014). She’s a member of the WRO Biennale curatorial team and of the selection committee of the Competition for Best Media Arts Graduation Projects (Poland). As an independent manager of interdisciplinary projects in the field of music, theater and video, together with the IP Group collective, since 2014 she leads the IP Studio - open lab for interdisciplinary art projects and experimental research located in Wrocław, Poland. Since 2018 she’s a member of Artistic Council of the Lower Silesian Zachęta Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts.

WRO Media Art Biennale
The WRO Media Art Biennale is the major forum for media art in Poland and one of the leading international contemporary art events in Europe. Since its inception in 1989, WRO has been presenting art forms created using new media for artistic expression and communication, exploring current creative territories, and forming a critical perspective of emerging issues in culture, art, society, technology, and humanities.
Every two years, Wrocław becomes a place of presentation for the most recent artistic practicies, combined with talks and meetings of artists and scientists with the participating audience, oscillating in variable dynamics between both contemplation and consideration, experience and confrontation. Over the years, the WRO Biennales have raised a variety of questions about creative approaches to new technologies and the creative crossover realms that arise where art and science, economics and social activism intersect. The last edition of Biennale WRO 2017 Draft Systems gathered over 120 of international artists and the public exceeded the number of 100,000 visitors at the 17 venues across the city.
Anniversary edition of WRO Media Art Biennale 2019 – HUMAN ASPECT
In 2019 we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first edition of the international Sound Basis Visual Art Festival, which regularly takes place under the name of the WRO International Media Art Biennale since 1995, and has been invariably Poland’s leading and most important review of media art for the past 30 years. In this context for the upcoming 2019 WRO Biennale we plan to investigate the wide topic of Human Aspect. Structures of continually increasing capacities, artificial intelligence environments, power and knowledge which trigger self-propelling relationships within vast networks, lives – natural and artificial, and non-human cognitive perspectives locate the human aspect in novel contexts. In how far is the human aspect subject to technology? To what degree and from what viewpoint is the human aspect autonomous, unpredictable, faulty, creative.

European collaborative projects - EMAP (2017-2021) – European Media Art Platform
WRO Art Center, along with 10 partners, including the leading European media art organizations, institutions and festivals, launched in December 2017 the European Media Art Platform (EMAP), which is the largest platform of artistic exchange and residency projects for media artists in Europe. The program, co-financed by the Creative Europe program of the EU, offers two months residencies along with production budget for artists working in the broadly defined field of media art. The EMAP is aimed at producing new works, presentations, workshops, exhibitions and networking of organisations, festivals, galleries, curators, production companies. As partner of the EMAP/EMARE program, WRO Art Center will present during the WRO 2019 Biennale new art works created in 2018.

IP Group & IP Studio
Identity Problem Group is an interdisciplinary artistic collective, combining visual and performing arts with dramaturgy, architecture, video and soundart. IP Group's domain is improvisation grounded in performance art, multimedia installations, film and transmedia activities. IP endorses activities at the periphery of art and theoretical practice and discourse, opening up to various fields of creative thought and daily life, as well as focusing on the creative process expressed via methodological work, laboratory activities and artistic creation. Since 2014 IP Group runs in Wrocław IP Studio – a space for visual and performative arts, movies, architecture and literature. The idea of opening such a space came from the members of the IP Group and has been designed as a base for the projects coming from the edge of an artistic and research undertakings. IP Studio is focused on the organisation of the events that go beyond the ordinary cultural programs and encourages the development and fusion of various spheres of creative thinking and everyday life together with the artistic practice and theoretical discourses. It has been designed as laboratory space open to screenings, concerts, seminars and workshops. Currently, IP Studio functions as a performative studio & multimedia and audio-visual lab. It is also planned to start the residential program focusing on the process of creation.
