AaBKC Social #3: The Feminist Supermarket

AaBKC Social #3 - The Feminist Supermarket
For the AaBKC Social #3, Mary Conlon (Founder, Ormston House, Ireland) will present The Feminist Supermarket, a multi-year project which launched on International Women's Day. The project is inspired by advertisements from the 1960s when Ormston House operated as the first supermarket in Limerick. The slogan “If you Hav’nt Visited with us yet You’r Robbing Your Husband” has prompted us to ask: What would a feminist supermarket look like? How would it work? The Feminist Supermarket is currently in a research and development phase and we will be seeking proposals from artists to contribute to the three key pillars of our programme: artistic ambition, professional development and public engagement.
